The Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit), wishes to alert riders traveling during the morning and afternoon of Saturday, January 20 of some bus line detours and the potential of delays due to the Women’s March Oakland 2018.

March events will commence at downtown Oakland’s Lake Merritt Amphitheater and scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The assembled crowd will then march to Frank Ogawa Plaza for a rally scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Last year’s march extended 40 city blocks and included an estimated 100,000 marchers. Since several downtown Oakland streets serve as the beginning, ending or transfer location for a large number of AC Transit bus lines, we have devised a series of reroutes to ensure AC Transit riders continue to receive our reliable and safe service while minimizing delays where possible.

The following reroutes will activate Saturday, January 19 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.:

• Line 1 to downtown Oakland will serve stops on International Boulevard at 8th Avenue and on 12th Street at Broadway (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 1 to San Leandro BART will serve stops on 11th Street at Clay Street and on International Boulevard at 14th Avenue (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 6 will serve stops on 10th Street at Washington Street and on Telegraph Avenue at 24th Street (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 12 to downtown Berkeley will serve stops on Broadway at 9th Street and on Grand Avenue at Webster St. (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 12 to Oakland Amtrak will serve stops on Grand Avenue at Valdez Street and on Broadway at 9th Street (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 14 will serve stops on 1st Avenue at International Boulevard and on 14th Street at Martin Luther King Jr. Way (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 18 will serve stops on San Pablo Avenue at Castro Street (to Lake Merritt BART)/Martin Luther King Jr. Way at 22nd Street (to Albany) and on 7th Street at Franklin Street (to Lake Merritt BART)/8th Street at Broadway (to Albany) (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 19 to downtown Oakland will serve the regular stop on 12th Street at Broadway (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 20 to downtown Oakland will serve the regular stop on 12th Street at Broadway (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 29 will serve regular stops on 11th Street at Broadway (to Lakeshore Avenue)/12th Street at Broadway (to Emeryville) and on 1st Avenue at International Boulevard (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 33 will serve regular stops on Thomas L. Berkley Way (20th Street) at Franklin Street and on 1st Avenue at International Boulevard (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 40 to downtown Oakland will serve regular stops on Foothill Boulevard at 6th Avenue and on 12th Street at Broadway (Oakland City Center/12th Street BART) (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 40 to Bay Fair BART will serve regular stops on 11th Street at Clay Street and on East 15th Street at 7th Avenue (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 51A will serve regular stops on Broadway at West Grand Avenue (to Fruitvale BART)/Thomas L. Berkley Way (to Rockridge BART) and on Broadway at 9th Street (to Fruitvale BART)/8th Street at Broadway (to Rockridge BART) (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 62 to Fruitvale BART will serve regular stops on 7th Street at Jackson Street and on 5th Avenue at East 10th Street (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 62 to West Oakland BART will serve regular stops on 5th Avenue at East 10th Street and on 8th Street at Oak Street (note: no stops between these two points).
• Lines 72 and 72M to Jack London Square will serve regular stops on San Pablo Avenue at Castro Street and on Broadway at 9th Street (note: no stops between these two points).
• Lines 72, 72M, and 72R northbound will serve regular stops on Broadway at 7th Street and on San Pablo Avenue at West Grand Avenue (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 72R to Jack London Square will serve regular stops on San Pablo Avenue at West Grand Avenue and on Broadway at 7th Street (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 88 to downtown Berkeley will begin service on 12th Street at Broadway. Line 88 will not serve Lake Merritt BART.
• Line 88 to Lake Merritt BART will end service on 11th Street at Clay Street. Line 88 will not serve Lake Merritt BART.
• Line 96 to the Dimond District will serve regular stops on 8th Street at Broadway and on 5th Avenue at East 10th Street (note: no stops between these two points).
• Line 96 to West Alameda will serve regular stops on 7th Street at Laney College and on Broadway at 9th Street (note: no stops between these two points).

The following reroute will activate Saturday, January 19 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.:

• • Line 14 will serve stops on 14th Street at Jackson Street (to West Oakland BART)/Harrison Street (to Fruitvale BART) and on 14th Street at Martin Luther King Jr. Way (note: no stops between these two points).
