Anthony “Curtis” Silva was elected to the AC Transit Board of Directors in November 2024 to represent the newly formed Ward 6, which consists of the Cities of Hayward and Newark as well as small segment of the City of Fremont.

Director Silva has a lengthy background in military service and grew up on the Treasure Island Naval Base where his father served in the United States Navy for 23 years. After his father’s retirement, the family moved to Fremont and then to Newark, where Director Silva has lived for 50 years. Director Silva is a Marine Corps veteran, and following his service, began a 38-year career in the transportation industry at Gillig Corporation having risen through the ranks from the production line to the engineering department.

Director Silva and his spouse reside in Newark where they raised a family with their children all attending local schools where AC Transit was their primary mode of transportation.

Representing: Ward 6 including Newark, Hayward and a portion of Fremont.
