Jean Walsh, representing parts of Oakland, Berkeley, and the cities of Emeryville and Piedmont since 2020, works tirelessly to create a world class, rider-centric Bay Area transportation network.

Having served in the Peace Corps in Nicaragua, Director Walsh is fluent in Spanish and brings a global perspective to her advocacy work. She earned a master's degree in Urban Planning from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a bachelor's degree in History and Political Science from the University of Colorado.
