Other Transit Priority Projects
Durant Avenue Transit Lane
This project is a joint effort of the City of Berkeley and AC Transit. The Quick Build Durant Avenue Project, led by AC Transit, will deliver roadway reconfigurations, bus stop improvements, and traffic signal modifications to Durant Avenue between Fultron Street and College Avenue. These modifications aim to reduce traffic congestion, improve transit reliability, promote transit use, and promote safety and accessibility. Engineering design is currently underway and construction is expected to be completed by 2024.
MacArthur Boulevard/Alma Street Bus Stop Improvements
This Quick Build project includes modifications to a pair of bus stops at MacArthur Boulevard and Alma Avenue. The project would improve the bus stop to better serve people with disabilities, including a pedestrian bulb and a new curb ramp. Engineering design is currently underway and construction is expected to be completed by 2024.
International Boulevard Transit Lane Delineation
The project is a joint effort of the City of Oakland and AC Transit. This project will offer additional safety improvements designed to enhance lane adherence and potentially reduce speeding, red light violations, and other moving violations along the corridor. AC Transit will lead a preliminary study and implement Quick Build elements along an eight-block stretch of International Boulevard between 14th and 42nd Avenues. The City of Oakland has committed additional funds to expand the study for eight blocks between 42nd and 107th Avenues, which is part of Caltrans right-of-way. The evaluation will begin in early 2023 and construction is expected to be completed by 2024.
