Beginning on August 11, AC Transit will be making several changes including the resumption of supplementary service to schools and added trips on certain Transbay lines.

Highlights of changes:

  • Lines and trips designed to serve schools resume for the fall.
  • All Line 52 trips to University Village will loop University Village before terminating on Monroe St. and 10th St. Trips to the UC campus will not loop the village.
  • Early Bird lines 706 and 707 are eliminated. Line 703 service to Bay Fair BART and Fruitvale BART added. Early Bird service is operated on behalf of BART and replaces BART service when BART is not operating.
  • Trips added to lines G, P, V, and W to alleviate overcrowding.

Other changes effective Sunday, August 11:

Southbound trip added on Sundays and holidays with schedule changes throughout. Downtown Berkeley terminus moved to Oxford St. at Addison St. Other minor schedule changes.
18First weekday northbound trip leaves six minutes earlier and first weekday southbound trip leaves three minutes earlier with schedule changes throughout the day.
33New school-day-only morning trip beginning at Harrison St. and MacArthur Blvd. and ending at Park Blvd. and MacArthur Blvd. New school-day only afternoon trip beginning at Park Blvd. and MacArthur Blvd. and ending at Harrison St. and MacArthur Blvd. Minor schedule changes throughout.
51BBerkeley Marina terminus changed to stop on University Ave. at the Berkeley Marina Sportsmans Center. Minor schedule changes throughout.
52All trips to University Village will loop University Village before terminating on Monroe St. and 10th St. Trips to the UC campus will not loop the village. Schedule changes throughout the day.
56Weekday and weekend schedules now differ. Minor schedule changes throughout.
93Three weekday northbound trips added in addition to a school-day only trip that resumes for the fall. Two weekday southbound trips added in addition to two school-day only trips that resume for the fall. Schedule changes throughout.
217Weekday northbound schedule shifted five minutes later. Minor schedule changes throughout the weekday southbound schedule.
376Northbound service departs El Cerrito del Norte BART seven minutes later. Southbound schedule shifted five to seven minutes later. Minor schedule changes throughout.
620Morning trip shifted six minutes earlier. Minor schedule changes throughout.
703, 706, 707Early Bird Line 703 service to San Francisco at Bay Fair BART and Fruitvale BART added. Lines 706 and 707 are eliminated. Early Bird service is operated on behalf of BART and are replacements for BART service.
GAfternoon trip leaving San Francisco at 6:40 pm added.
LFirst morning trip from Princeton Plaza Shopping Center leaves three minutes earlier. Minor schedule changes throughout.
LAWestbound morning trips shifted earlier. Arrival times in the East Bay for afternoon trips shifted later.
PTwo morning trips added leaving Piedmont at 6:20 am and 6:50 am.
VTwo morning trips added leaving Broadway and College Ave. at 7:20 am and 8:30 am.
WOne morning trip added leaving Broadway and Blanding Ave. at 6:25 am.
OtherTrips that operate school days only resume for the fall. These are on lines 39, 57, 72M, 76, 95, 97, and 600 through 699. Most lines have minor schedule changes to better meet school bell times. Minor schedule changes are made on lines 7, 12, 20, 21, 29, 51A, 70, 71, 72, 72M, 72R, 73, 74, 76, 93, 95, 96, 97, 200, 232, 703, F, L, and O.

“Minor schedule changes” are those that move the times of bus trips earlier or later by a few minutes.

New schedules and line maps are available at actransit.org. All lines have printable timetables available online, and pocket timetables are available on board buses for local bus lines and Transbay bus lines F, NL, O, and 800.
